CITIC Securities' computer team published a note arguing that AI EDA is evolving from a tool into an 'agent' that autonomously handles the chip design-verify-modify loop, citing Synopsys' L1-L5 autonomy framework, its September 28 AgentEngineer and Autopilot launch, an October 1 multi-year binding agreement with OpenAI, and an October 10 multi-year agreement with Amazon worth over $1 billion.
CITIC Securities is bullish on the AI EDA theme and recommends watching domestic Chinese EDA companies Huada Empyrean, Primarius, and Guangli Micro.
